Things to do in Cozumel
Cozumel is the largest island in Mexico located in western Caribbean 45 miles south of Cancun. According to recent statistics, Cozumel is one of the safest places in the world. If you are visiting this location on a cruise, there simply isn’t enough time to take advantage of everything that this amazing island has to offer but that doesn’t mean you have to miss out.
The main pier is located in midtown San Miguel de Cozumel; it is a vibrant area with a unique tourist atmosphere. Nightclubs and shops are most prevalent in the area nearest to the cruise ship harbor but a walk a couple of blocks inland will introduce you to Cozumel’s rich history plus a passing look into the local’s daily life. You are going to want to make the most of your short stay in Cozumel so why not try and fit in as many of these awesome attractions all of which are no more than 20 minutes away from the Cozumel cruise ship port.
Chankanaab National Park
This wonderful location is only a 10 minute taxi ride away from the cruise ship dock. It is open from 7am-5pm Monday to Sunday and costs approximately $21 usd for adults and $14 usd for children. You can either relax on the beach on a hammock or under a palapa with a beer, or you can take part in one of their many activities. This fantastic eco-park offers swimming with dolphins or manatees, a natural spa, scuba diving, snuba and snorkelling. There is a playground for the kids, a crocodile farm, a bird sanctuary, Mayan ruin replicas, tropical gardens, a sea lion show and much more.

Stingray Beach
If you’ve ever wanted to see a real life stingray, this will be your opportunity to do so. After you have been provided with strict instructions on how to handle the creatures you will be able to interact with them and the staff will take pictures that you can purchase at the end of the tour. After canoodling with the stingrays you can go snorkelling and then have a bite at the snack bar for lunch. A visit to stingray beach will cost you $69 usd for adults and $35 usd for children; it is open between 8am and 15:30pm.
Ecoparque Cuzam
If you want to go on a jungle adventure, Ecoparque Cuzam in Cozumel is definitely the place to do so. You can ride ATV’s, play paintball, go zip lining or ride horses. There is also a swimming pool for adults and a swimming pool for children as well as a play area. The price depends on the activities you want to participate in but you should expect to pay between $75 usd and $110 usd per adult or child.
Nachi Cocom
Nachi Cocom is a beach club paradise located 20 minutes drive from the Cozumel cruise ports. You can spend the day lying under a sun umbrella being pampered with delicious food and drinks. For $55 usd per person you will get a 4 course lunch, unlimited drinks, a private beach, a hammock, an outdoor swimming pool and a hot tub. For an extra fee you can go fishing, diving, snorkelling, participate in a range of other water sports or you can relax and get a massage. Nachi Cocom is one of those vacation memories that you will be fantasizing about when you are back at work. It is open Monday to Saturday 8:00am to 5:00pm.
