Princess Cruises Puts Money Where Its Mouth Is
Princess Cruises has been hard at work to expand and create programs and policies to enhance the passenger experience and offer greater peace of mind during a cruise vacation.
The line is introducing a new program, called Princess Promise, which assures guests that Princess will “make it right” for any onboard service that did not meet their expectations. This could include being given onboard credits, future cruise credits, refunds, and more.
Princess Cruises is also expanding its Book with Confidence policy, which now allows guests the flexibility to change their vacation plans 30 days prior to the day of departure. When doing so, they will receive the cancelation fees as a future cruise credit.
This flexible booking option is available for any cruise bookings made through March 2, 2021 on voyages departing through October 31, 2021.
“During this time, we’re all dreaming about our next cruise vacation and experiencing the wonder of new places, people and cultures,” said Deanna Austin, chief commercial officer, Princess Cruises. “When we set sail again our guests can feel at ease with the promise of a great cruise vacation, and the flexibility of adjusting their bookings if their plans change.”

For even more peace of mind, the cruise line also offers Princess Vacation Protection, which will provide full vacation protection in the form of either a future cruise credit or a reimbursement of the normally non-refundable cancelation fee, depending on the reason for changed plans.
The program also covers passengers during their voyage, including lost or damaged luggage protection, emergency excess medical expenses, and emergency evacuation coverage.
Trip interruption coverage is also included, which provides a pro-rated refund if illness interrupts the cruise — as well as extra costs associated with trip delays or interruptions.
Last week, Princess announced that they will not be resuming cruises until April 2021. Aside from making preparations to comply with the CDC’s Conditional Sailing Order, the reason is that the line is working to roll out its Ocean Medallion technology to every ship before they set sail again. Not only does the wearable technology make for a more seamless guest experience, but it will also help the cruise line with contact tracing and other health measures.
