According to Cruise Arabia & Africa, the Royal Caribbean International ship Jewel of the Seas – currently doing seven-night cruises in the Arabian Gulf out of Dubai – is offering the pricey excursion on sailings from December 2019 through March of 2020.
And as one might expect, given the price tag, this particular excursion is a bit more extravagant than say, swimming with dolphins or doing a local beer tasting. “This day will be such an extraordinary, once-in-a-lifetime experience, that guests really will need to pinch themselves to be reminded it isn’t a dream,” says Ben Bouldin, managing director for Royal Caribbean International in the UK and Ireland.
At the heart of the experience is a shopping spree in the Dubai Mall, complete with a dedicated personal shopper. (Despite the hefty price tag, the excursion does not actually include any purchases made during the shopping spree.) “In true Royal Caribbean style,” said Bouldin, “we’ve let our imaginations run wild and have created a playground for those who love to indulge in retail therapy in the destination famous for its offerings. And what better place to do it than Dubai?”

Even before you head to the mall, you’ll be styled by an image consultant and, given that you’re all dressed up with somewhere to go, take part in a professional photo shoot outside the Burj Al Arab hotel, dubbed the world’s only “seven-star hotel.”
Of course, all that shopping and posing for photos is sure to leave guests with an appetite, so they will enjoy a three-course gourmet meal. Then, having been pampered within an inch of their lives, they’ll – you guessed it – be pampered a bit more with a three-and-a-half hour spa visit!
