Norwegian Cruise Line Offers $1 Deposits

If you’ve been considering booking a cruise but didn’t have the extra cash laying around to make a deposit, there may be no better time than the present. From now until June 28th, Norwegian Cruise Line is offering $1 deposits on some of their most popular ships. If you happen to be interested in a sailing that’s not covered under the $1 deposit special, most other cruises can be reserved with a $50 deposit.

The dollar-deposit deal is available on over 200 eligible cruises for passengers booked in any mini-suite or lower category (which would include inside, oceanview and balcony staterooms). Ships offering sailings covered by this sale are the Breakaway, Dawn, Epic, Escape, Gem, Getaway, Jade, Pearl, Sky and Sun. Not all sailings on these ships are eligible, so it’s important to consult either NCL.com or your travel professional to find out if the particular dates you’re interested in qualify.

The dollar-deposit deal can be combined with Norwegian’s long-running and very popular Free At Sea promotion, which allows guests to pick from a variety of perks such as unlimited open bar, shore excursions, free wifi and more. How many perks a guest gets to pick depends on the category of stateroom they wind up booking. (It’s important to note that guests who select the dining or drink package will be charged a 20% gratuity at the time of their booking. The dining package offers 3 meals in specialty restaurants on sailings of 3-9 days, and 4 meals in specialty restaurants on sailings of 9 days or more.)

Those planning to travel in the Haven (aka Norwegian’s high-end ship-within-a-ship area), Suite or Concierge categories won’t be eligible for the $1 deposit offer. On the plus side, most guests of the Haven automatically get the Ultimate Beverage Package, Specialty Dining Package, $50 per-port shore excursion credits and 250 minute internet package.
