Carnival Opens Bookings On New Mega Cruise Ship Celebration

Carnival Cruise Line’s 50th birthday may still be two years away, but they’re giving cruisers an early present as bookings open today for its upcoming ship, Celebration.
That means that as of today, Carnival has two ships available for booking — neither of which is yet welcoming guests. Mardi Gras, sister ship to the Celebration, is also taking reservations for her sailings, which are slated to begin in February of 2021.
How To Be On Celebration‘s First Sailing
Upon launching, Carnival Celebration’s first sailing will be a 14-night transatlantic Carnival Journeys sailing, departing November 6, 2022, out of Southampton and arriving — to great fanfare — in Miami on November 20, 2022. Along the way, the ship will stop at ports such as La Coruña and Vigo, Spain; Funchal, Portugal; and Tenerife in the Canary Islands.
The sailing will kick off what Carnival Cruise Line president Christine Duffy describes as “a terrific array of itineraries.”

Not only will this be an exciting voyage because it’s the first on Carnival Celebration, but it will also be special because it’s a Carnival Journeys cruise. This means it will feature fun extras that you won’t find on other Carnival cruises, such as the Throwback Sea Day that offers nods to long-gone cruise traditions — including a midnight gala buffet. Carnival Journeys voyages also include other special activities and fun onboard courses in subjects like photography and celestial navigation.
Where Will Carnival Celebration Sail?
St. Thomas in November 2018.
Once in Miami, Carnival Celebration will sail a special six-night Thanksgiving cruise that visits Grand Turk, Amber Cove, and Nassau from November 21 to 27.
Following that, the vessel will launch its year-round Caribbean cruise rotation on November 27, offering seven-night cruises departing Sundays to the eastern and western Caribbean.
Eastern Caribbean itineraries will call at Amber Cove, Dominican Republic; San Juan, Puerto Rico; and St. Thomas or St. Maarten. Western Caribbean voyages will stop in Cozumel and Costa Maya, Mexico and Mahogany Bay, Roatán, Honduras.
Two special eight-night cruises will depart December 11 and 19, 2022 with a call in Grand Turk, Amber Cove, San Juan, and St Thomas. A one-time five-night cruise to Amber Cove and Grand Turk will then be offered on January 3, 2023.
Welcome to a Year-Long Party
Carnival’s big 50th birthday celebration will kick off in March 2022 — the actual anniversary of its founding — with a series of commemorative sailings that will feature special entertainment and itineraries over the course of the next 12 months.
