A Dream Worth Fulfilling Carnivals Largest New Ship – The Carnival Dream
Carnival's newest ship the "Dream" made its debut Early November, adorned in regal red and gold colors for a new sophisticated look. The dream fits an astonishing 3,646 passengers, and boasts of an 11 story atrium, with many levels of shops, restaurants, and bars. The best new features of The Dream are the Ocean Plaza, and the Water Works aqua park. Ocean Plaza is an indoor / outdoor social entertainment area, equipped with a live band. The WaterWorks aqua park features a thrilling 104 Foot waterslide called the Drain pipe, squirting fountains, racing slides, and a corkscrew waterslide 4 decks high.
Carnival Dream has a stunning open air promenade a half a mile long called the Lanai, and along this open promenade, are 4 hot tubs with breath-taking scenic sea views. Above the promenade there is an expansive open deck area called the Lido Deck 10 which houses the Waves Pool, the nighttime laser show, theSeaside Theater, and a relaxing adults only area called the Serenity. The Carnival dream also houses Cloud 9 the largest spa, and wellness area among the Carnival Fleet.
Carnivals staterooms are a marvel in itself. There are several new types of staterooms including Deluxe ocean view rooms, for families. These new family staterooms can accommodate up to 5 people. It features two bathrooms, two twin beds which convert into a king. The Carnival dream, also introduced "cove" balcony staterooms, which have partly enclosed veranda's and can be closed in the event of bad weather.
Carnival dream sails all year round for seven day Caribbean cruises starting December 5, 2009. Port Canaveral (near Orlando) departs every Saturday, and alternates going to Eastern and Western Caribbean. Eastern being Nassau, St. Thomas / St. John, USVI, and St Martin. West Caribbean visits Cozumel, Belize, Costa Maya, and Nassau.
